Altamaha Pine Plantations
Conversions of NWI Wetlands to Pine Plantation - Altamaha River Watershed, Georgia.
~ Southern Environmental Law Center ~
The overall goal of this project for the Southern Environmental Law Center was to develop and test a practical method for determining the extent and rate of conversion of wetlands to pine plantations in the southeast Atlantic coastal plain. Various GIS data sources and analysis approaches were evaluated, and a promising method was identified, developed and applied to obtain conversion results for the Altamaha river watershed in Georgia.
